Our Recreational Program features general gymnastics, suitable for children of 4 years and above.

The program teaches the basics of gymnastics in a non-competitive and fun environment. The program is based on the guidelines recommend by the Australian Gymnastics Federation and uses the ‘building block’ technique of simplifying skills into key movements and then adding variety and difficult as the basic skills are mastered.

The general gymnastic classes use all areas of the gym, including trampolines, climbing ropes, bars, beams, and a sprung floor. The children are encouraged to work through a set series of ‘skill levels’ on the various pieces of equipment. They work at their own pace and are assessed at regular intervals. Children are taught in small groups by a qualified coach, and groups are graded according to age, ability, and consistent of mixed gender.

Session Information

Children are to be dressed in a leotard or firm fitting shorts and t-shirt/singlet for classes. No dresses, skirts, or loose fitting clothing, please, and hair should be tied back.

Children participate in bare feet.

Please bring a drink bottle with water, no juice or cordial please.

There is a no food policy inside the gym. Food and open drinks can be consumed in the seating area adjacent to the gym floor.

Pre Gym (4-5 year olds): Friday 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Saturday 12pm – 1pm

Cartwheels (Beginners): Friday 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Saturday 12pm – 1pm, Saturday 1pm – 2pm

Pullovers (Intermediate): Friday 6:30pm to 8pm, Saturday 12:30pm – 2pm

Flipsters (Advanced): Friday 6:30pm to 8pm, Saturday 12:30pm – 2pm
